Banff, Alberta, Canada – Ski and snowboard enthusiasts will soon be able to experience even more terrain, as Sunshine is set to open all but one lift by Saturday, November 29.
A solid system bringing bountiful snowfalls which repeatedly blanketed the resort this past week have created tremendous early season conditions, as the resort completes its second full week of the 2014-2015 season.
Sunshine Village will open all lifts with the exception of the Goat’s Eye Express Quad Lift.
“It’s amazing to see these types of powder conditions at Sunshine this early in the season,” begins Dave Riley, Chief Operating Officer, Sunshine Village Ski Resort. “The announcement of these new lift openings is just another way we’re aiming to enhance our overall guest experience for the 2014-15 season.”
All amenities will be open by Saturday including Goat’s Eye Gardens and the popular “ski out,” or Banff Avenue run. The 84 room boutique hotel, the Sunshine Mountain Lodge, has been open since November 14.
The current snow pack has settled to 82 cm (2ft 8 in), providing a solid base for some great early season powder conditions. (Skiers and riders are advised to use caution; early season conditions mean there may be unmarked natural hazards.)
Sunshine is famous for its legendary all-natural champagne powder snow and its unique snow farming technique, which uses 35 km (22 mi) of snow fencing to capture the snow on the resort’s three big mountains.
