Mount Snow has officially broken ground on its new $22 million lodge at the Carinthia Base Area. This lodge is the first step in the Carinthia Base Area Master Plan, which will eventually see the addition of hundreds of slopeside residential units, retail and amenities.
The new 38,000 sqft lodge will be finished in time for the 2018/19 season, and will feature a full-service restaurant, a cafeteria, two bars and coffee counter. Skier services will include a ski rental shop, tune shop, lift ticket and ski school sales, retail and convenience store, bag storage service and youth activity room.
It’s been a busy summer at Mount Snow where they are also working on their $30 million West Lake Water Project. This will double the snowmaking capacity of Mount Snow’s system, while increasing water storage six-fold. This project will allow Mount Snow to open more trails earlier in the season and to better respond to fluctuations in the weather, and will be online for the 17/18 season.
