What’s new in 2009? The Canadian Snowboard Championships and the Coupe Carton!
In this year’s program are held the Canadian Snowboard Championships
from March 30th until April 4th. This event brings together here in
Tremblant the best snowboarders in the world and it’s a unique chance
to see them go down the mountain. Over 400 athletes in all disciplines,
Half-pipe, Giant Slalom, Parallel Giant Slalom and Boardercross are
expected during the week. Another new event is the Coupe Carton.
Originally reserved for Tremblant’s employees, it’s now open to the
public for the first time. It’s a simple principle: build a solid
device made of cardboard able to slide down the hill. The winning team
moves to the next round and so on until there are only 2 teams left.
The Respectables will also be part of the TELUS Spin by presenting some
songs of their new English album. That is on April 1st in the « P’tit
Caribou » bar at 11 :00PM.
Competitions offering a load of action – Coca-Cola T4, Billabong Flaunt it, Skiercross, Boardercross and many more
The TELUS Spin will once again dazzle the crowds with the return of the
Coca-Cola T4, a big air type competition in teams of two skiers and two
snowboarders, offering $ 15 000 in purses and prizes. The Billabong
Flaunt it is also back on the grid, a girl-only competition. The
popular Skiercross and Boardercross* are also part of the program,
races where four participants face off simultaneously in a tight course
made up of jumps and rolls where it’s one sloping turn tightly after
another. This is only a glimpse of the competitions, visit tremblant.ca/telusspin for all the sport program details.
